(Paris, 29 April 2016) – Global Compact Local Network representatives from France, Greece, Indonesia, Lebanon and Panama came together for the 8th edition of the Local Network Exchange Programme to share best practices and lessons learned, as well as discuss challenges and opportunities.

Hosted by Global Compact Network France, the three-day workshop covered topics including effective participant management with a focus on reporting and governance matters, as well as strategic and operational planning. Networks explored opportunities for partnerships, business engagement and local implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through the Global Compact Local Network SDG Action Plan.

As part of the programme, participants visited the factory of  France’s largest independent recycling company, a UN Global Compact participant since 2005, to learn about their work to put the UN Global Compact ten principles into practice.
