(Singapore, 6 June 2018) – Global Compact Network Singapore successfully organized the third CEO Roundtable and the 2018 Sustainable Solutions Expo from 4 to 6 June 2018 at the Shangri-La Hotel and Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre respectively.

The CEO Roundtable brought together 38 business leaders, investors, and representatives of Government agencies to discuss the development of an ecosystem that will help businesses better tap into the opportunities arising from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Asia.

The CEO Roundtable brought together 38 business leaders, investors, and representatives of Government agencies.

The discussions among the various stakeholders facilitated a better understanding of their inter-related roles in implementing the SDGs, as well as their potential influence and the challenges they may face. The forum provided a holistic view of how the different actors can work together to utilize the business opportunities related to the SDGs, and the outcomes of these discussions will later be summarized in a thought leadership paper.

Shaping Sustainable Development Through Innovation

The Sustainable Solutions Expo — the first of its kind in Asia — provided a platform for companies to showcase innovative solutions that can help shape the sustainable development of the Asian region. With the goal of facilitating the scaling of such solutions to achieve the SDGs by 2030, the event focused on an inclusive and collaborative approach to promoting sustainability. It convened investors and other stakeholders for targeted pitching sessions, thematic tours and interactive plenary discussions.

At the Sustainable Solutions Expo, companies showcased innovative solutions to advance the Sustainable Development Goals in the Asian region.

Over forty businesses along with one research institute exhibited their work on circular economy, connectivity, and food and agriculture. The businesses included 34 small and medium enterprises and eight large companies. The full list of exhibitors can be found here.

Providing an excellent opportunity for participants to engage in a dialogue, the Expo included five plenary sessions, two fundraising pitching sessions and six guided tours. Over the two days, the event attracted around 1,500 visitors, with nearly 400 attending the plenary sessions.
