(Sofia, 3 April 2015) — Marking its 5th anniversary, Global Compact Network Bulgaria launched a new project called “Responsible Choice” aimed at increasing supply chain transparency and empowering consumers to play their part in advancing corporate sustainability.

Global Compact signatories and other stakeholders gathered for a CEO roundtable in Sofia, Bulgaria to mark the occasion and launch the new initiative. Through “Responsible Choice”, the Local Network aims to encourage companies to increase transparency in their production and supply chain management, while also highlighting the impact of consumer choices in driving change. The project is solutions-focused, promoting best practices in the areas of supply chain management, sustainable production, consumer rights and ethical marketing.

Speaking at the event, UN Global Compact Executive Director Georg Kell called on companies to join the network and support its projects, such as “Responsible Choice,”  which provide opportunities to collectively address societal challenges.
